How can a first world country army "detain" a child? And, even worse, how can they torture that child and have their crimes remain unpunished? And maybe just because he was born in the "wrong" quarter, he was taught to throw stones to the "enemy", he was told the enemy was Israel, and he didn't have to wait too long to see how its army treats the locals.
If you are taught of violence, there is still a chance for you to forget. But if you've lived it, it's yours forever.
And if you've grown up playing warlords with *real* guns and mortars, what will you do when you see your child, your wife, your people are at risk?
What will you do to face daily abuse, illegal land expropriation, torture, and warcrimes, when you are thought the only choice is war?
If you knew there is another way, one that is not violent yet not less harsh, one that will not let you down like cheap weapons but will put a stop to the abuse and create a legal base to protect you, one that liberated more than a billion people from the strongest empire, would you take it? Would you teach it to your friends & family? Would you?
This is a time of change, where people are gaining unity and consciousness.
And yet those who affirm to be chosen by god, or to be the chosen people, commit crimes that are worth its wrath.
And thanks to nowadays' laws & real-time media, whoever sistematically tortures families and children because of their origin or etnic group CAN BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE. A justice where weapons stay silent, and human rights are respected.
